POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for leading one or multiple production lines and/or work groups to ensure a safe, quality meat product is produced.  This position cleans all equipment and facilities within the assigned dept, and monitors work quality to established standards. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
  • Support, direct and provide guidance to Sanitation Team Members.
  • Execute all activities required to efficiently clean and sanitize all facilities.
  • Monitor compliance with procedures, standards and policies.
  • Provide performance feedback to team members and promote positive employee relations.
  • Assist in monitoring and maintaining the Master Sanitation Schedule.
  • Assist in monitoring Environmental Sampling and take corrective actions when necessary.
  • Assist department supervision in evaluating and implementing changes designed to reduce costs and decrease waste (plant supplies, chemicals, labor).
  • Mix and test chemical concentrations
  • Assist in maintaining chemical and supplies inventory and ensure safe handling and storage of chemicals.
  • Additional duties as assigned

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:

  • Required education generally equivalent to a High School Diploma; with an Associate’s Degree preferred.
  • Requires Prior Sanitation experience, 5+ years preferred.
  • Prefer candidates with 1-3 years Team Leadership or supervision experience.
  • Requires a proven track record in acceptable levels of attendance, safety and quality of work.
  • Possess a moderate level of technical ability pertaining to HACCP, SSOP, GMP, and USDA requirements.
  • Requires mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Requires good oral and written communication skills in order to interact with and provide work direction to employees.
  • Ability to use other industrial equipment as needed. Must be trained as an Authorized employee under LOTO, ariel lift, and forklift.
  • Prefer Candidates with a strong mechanical Aptitude.
PHYSICAL AND WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to stand/Walk for 8-9 hours per day.
  • Must be able to lift, Push, Pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to bend, twist, stoop and squat, reach above shoulders as needed for day to day responsibilities and other miscellaneous duties.
  • Must have good hand and eye coordination.
  • Must be able to work in temperatures of 40 degrees or less.
  • Must be able to work overtime, during peak production periods.
PAY RANGE:
        $16 - $20
